KIRSTIE CLARK - OFFICE MANAGER
About Me:
Kirstie joined Skin Center Boston as the very first employee in 2020 and has been integral to our growth and culture ever since. With a strong background in medical administration, she handles patient coordination, medical billing support, and efficient office operations.
As the Office Manager, Kirstie ensures the practice runs smoothly. She manages the front desk team, oversees scheduling, and guarantees every patient visit is welcoming and efficient. Her attention to detail and upbeat attitude are key to maintaining the seamless experience our patients and staff rely on.
My Superpower:
The power to influence my environment. "I am highly skilled at regulating and elevating the energy of an entire room. I ensure that the moment a patient walks into Skin Center Boston, they are met with a positive, calm, and welcoming atmosphere."
When Not at Work
Kirstie enjoys spending quality time with her partner, Reese, and their dog, Bailey. She also loves trying new restaurants, nurturing her plants, and traveling.
VANESSA PHAN HEGAZY - DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL AFFAIRS & OUTREACH
About Me:
Vanessa joined Skin Center Boston in 2021, bringing a strong foundation of clinical expertise from her work as a dermatology medical assistant and as a research assistant at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her unique perspective, shaped by her clinical background and volunteer work with the unhoused, allows her to effectively identify systemic gaps and implement meaningful solutions that enhance efficiency. Vanessa is currently expanding her expertise by pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Systems Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University.
Vanessa’s path reflects a deep passion for continuous improvement and building healthcare systems that balance efficiency with compassionate care. She manages complex initiatives, from training future medical assistants and expanding referral networks with leading Boston institutions to designing workflow automations—all with an unwavering commitment to promoting health equity through systemic change.
My Superpower:
Finding silver-linings. "It is intrinsically rewarding to turn challenges into opportunities for growth, but it is most important to remember how your spirit and energy positively impact the people around you."
When Not at Work
When she isn’t streamlining clinical workflows, Vanessa enjoys adventuring with her husband and their mini dachshund, Happï, whether hiking winding trails or road-tripping somewhere new. She loves reading in good company, tinkering with home projects, and is notorious among friends for her metaphysical musings and gold-medal-worthy deal hunting skills.
MICHELLE AUYEUNG - MEDICAL ASSISTANT
About Me:
Michelle is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a focus on Nutrition. She is an aspiring Physician Associate (PA) and is deeply interested in exploring the critical relationships between food, health, and disease in her future role as a healthcare professional.
Michelle’s experience is rooted in patient-centered care and community service. During her undergraduate years, she volunteered extensively, assisting underserved populations through food pantries and organizing food drives. Her clinical work as a Nursing Assistant in the telemetry unit provided extensive experience delivering compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing her decision to pursue PA school. Michelle believes in the importance of working with patients, ensuring a collaborative and supportive healthcare journey.
My Superpower:
The ability to find the positive aspects in any situation. "Life is too short to dwell on the negatives! I strive to bring an optimistic and solution-oriented outlook to every interaction."
When Not at Work
As a former cycling instructor, Michelle is passionate about inspiring others to find joy in movement and physical activity, often taking workout classes with friends. She also enjoys exploring the local culinary scene and trying new restaurants.
JULIA FULFARO - MEDICAL ASSISTANT
About Me:
Julia joined Skin Center Boston as a Medical Assistant after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University. An aspiring physician, she chose to dedicate her gap year to gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical environment and further developing her patient care skills.
Julia's interest in dermatology began when she was a patient at Skin Center Boston in 2021. After personally experiencing the outstanding care provided by Dr. Doktor and the SCB team, she knew the practice was her top choice for employment after graduation. During her undergraduate studies, Julia actively conducted cancer research, including an independent experiment investigating the relationship between intra-tumoral melanoma temperature and preference. She is also a published author on a paper examining symptom management in head and neck cancer patients.
Julia strives to ensure every patient feels listened to, supported, and comfortable. She has already gained invaluable clinical experience at SCB, which will undoubtedly shape her future as a compassionate physician.
My Superpower:
I’m a good listener. "My friends often come to me when they need advice or simply someone to talk to. I love being that reliable support, offering thoughtful guidance when it’s wanted and unconditional support when others are struggling."
LAURA AGARKOV - MEDICAL ASSISTANT
About Me:
Laura is an aspiring physician who is delighted to be a member of the incredible SCB team and passionate about patient care. She graduated from UMass Amherst with Departmental Honors and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. After contributing to published research on cancer immunotherapies at a biotech company, Laura joined SCB to further develop her hands-on patient care skills in a clinical setting.
Laura is actively involved in her community, dedicating time to various volunteering commitments with organizations such as Rosie’s Place Women’s Shelter, Hebrew Senior Life, and Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Notably, Laura is fluent in Russian and aims to provide a welcoming and comfortable office experience for the local Russian-speaking community we serve.
My Superpower
Multitasking. "I always have a bunch of different thoughts zipping around in my mind, but I manage to keep track of them all—for the most part! This skill is essential for keeping up with the fast pace of patient care."
When Not at Work
In her free time, Laura enjoys staying active by going to the gym, skiing, and spending quality time with her friends.
GRACE KELLIHER - PATIENT CONCIERGE
About Me:
Grace has been an integral part of Skin Center Boston since 2022, leveraging her extensive experience in managing fast-paced front office environments. Her role as Patient Concierge centers on providing exceptional customer service, managing complex scheduling, and maintaining professional administrative support. Grace consistently excels in multitasking, ensuring every patient interaction is seamless and contributing to a highly organized and productive office atmosphere. She is passionate about facilitating smooth operations and maintaining our positive workplace culture.
My Superpower:
Interpersonal intuition. "My gut feeling is always right! This intuition allows me to quickly understand and anticipate patient needs, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience from the moment they contact our office."
When Not at Work
When Grace steps away from the office, she spends time at home on Cape Cod with her family or enjoys outings with friends. She loves spending quiet nights crocheting alongside her bulldog, Benjamin, and watching scary movies. A fan of all things dark and spooky, her adventures often include concerts, camping in Maine, and finding unique oddity and novelty shops around New England.
