Once comfortably seated in one of our secluded treatment rooms, a small amount of blood will be taken from one of our patient's arms. Usually, we take about one vial worth of blood. The blood will be placed in a centrifuge machine, which will spin the blood for about 15 minutes separating the components of blood. We will place the condensed plasma into a sterile syringe and inject it into the predetermined locations on the patient. The PRP process typically only takes approximately five minutes, but that can vary on a patient-to-patient basis.
